Love the range of light medium format records... sooo much better than digital! This shot was shot direct into the sun, and no extra lighting. I've got blue skies and plenty of detail throughout the image... Imagine this on digital!! - Silhouette, white washed sky, yuk lol
how much did your medium format setup cost? thinking about it quite a lot lately, though i know little about the subject. Any pointers? The pic is sweet as fuck btw..
Well... I'm still at Uni, so at the moment £0 (on constant loan) But when i finish in the summer I'm thinking of forking out for the same kit which falls something along these lines...
Mamiya rb67 body - £200 6x7 back - £100 viewfinder - £100 37mm fisheye (the best lens in the whole world) - £700! (very rare!) 90mm lens - £200 Light meter £100
Films - vary but probly £3 a roll if brought in batch i.e. 20+
Not too bad for the cost of the kit i supppose, (digital can be worse!) its the cost of processin thats gunna be shite when i finish uni... At the moment i get it for £2 a roll. But to send it off when your not a student will cost £5+ a roll plus postage and a week or so waiting time.
I'm still thinking about whether it would be worth spending all £1000+ on this kit when a £1000 would get quite a bit of digi stuff! But for now I'm just rinsing it for free while i can...

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I've been using a Hassleblad flextight x5 scanner (~£18,000) at Uni willy nilly....
Don't know how i'd digitalize the negs if i didn't have access to that!
Of course there are digital backs for these cameras now.... Not really looked into it yet myself.
